The Dons (6-0) stunned Las Lomas with a 28-point second quarter and rolled to an easy victory in their Diablo Athletic League Foothill opener. “We played well in all phases,” remarked Acalanes coach Floyd Burnsed, whose team led 35-0 at the half. No one played better than senior wide receiver Ethan Torres. Forced to play both ways because of injuries, Torres caught two touchdown passes, had an interception in the end zone and batted away another pass that was picked off by teammate Coco Gannon. Leading receiver Trevor Rogers had a 70-yard TD reception, giving him nine for the season. Quarterback Sully Bailey directed the first-half onslaught for the Dons, who play at Campolindo next Friday in a game that could decide the DAL Foothill title. Las Lomas slipped to 2-4, 0-1. – Mike Lefkow
